What to pack for a Mexico all-inclusive resort vacation feels easy… until you’re staring at your suitcase wondering if you’re forgetting something important. We just got back from beautiful Mexico and I’m sharing exactly what I packed and what I used daily!

Because let’s be honest — resort life is different than a regular vacation! So the packing is too. This was the first time I’d been to an all-inclusive resort in awhile so I admit I wasn’t sure what to expect.
☀️ Swimwear I packed and Actually wore
I packed:
• 4 swimsuits
• 2 lightweight cover-ups– I packed a black and a neutral. Here is a link to one of my favorite beach coverups.
• Flip flops
• Large beach tote–
• Wide brim hat– this is now non-negotiable for me to bring on any warm/sunny trip! Here is a packable hat that’s easy to fold in your suitcase.
• Sunglasses
• Reef-safe Sunscreen– (try to bring from home- this was really expensive at the resort). Here is a really good travel size sunscreen that’s also reef safe.
What I used daily?
Swimsuits and my big tote. That bag held sunscreen, water, my kindle, and a water bottle.
Tip: Bring at least one quick-dry swimsuit. Nothing worse than putting on a damp suit in humidity.
👗 What I packed and Wore to Dinner
Most all-inclusives have dinner dress codes — not fancy, but no wet swimsuits or flip flops.
I packed:
• 2 maxi dresses
• 1 dressier romper
• 1 skirt and top
• wedges
• Small crossbody bag- something simple but cute that matches with everything like this little straw crossbody bag
• Light sweater (restaurants were COLD)
For my husband:
• Linen button down
• Collared short sleeve
• Dress shorts or Khakis
• Closed-toe shoes
I definitely overpacked “cute” outfits. You rewear and mix and match things more than you think!

🧴 My Travel Wellness Kit (I Never Travel Without This)
If you’ve read my wellness posts before, you know I bring a small emergency kit everywhere.
Here’s what came with me:
• Aloe
• Advil/Tylenol
• Allergy meds
• Imodium and pepto (just in case)
• Prescription meds (inhalers, epi pens)
At an all-inclusive, pharmacies are expensive. I’d rather have it and not need it.

✈️ What I Packed in My Carry-On
• Portable charger
• Snacks (just a few)
• Empty water bottle
• Change of clothes
• Swimsuit and flip flops (rooms aren’t always ready especially if you have an early flight). This saved us since we arrived early.
• Compression socks
• Kindle
• Headphones– these noise cancelling headphones are so nice for longer flights, I never go on a trip without them!

💵 Small Bills
Bring small USD bills for tipping. I have never seen such amazing service as I did here! Tipping is not always expected, but its very nice to show your appreciation.
